Trevi Fountain

Here we are, me, Cieon and Lucie.

This is our neighbourhood!

Blockage

We have been home in Naples for a few days now and I am yet to write a word about the month of August and our travels around Italy. I sit down and feel blocked and broken so you will just have to wait...
On a better note we enjoyed the 5 days that Lucie spent with us. Cieon, another friend from Oz, arrived at the same time, but she is lingering in Naples a little longer, flying to Finland on the 31st. Cieon (her father Nick will be green with envy) has been enjoying the Italian food, and our cooking. She eats everything put before her but has a bad habit of complaining that she has eaten too much...Yesterday for example she polished off porcini mushroom risotto, Naples' best gelati and fresh ripe figs.
While writing this I have been chatting to my mother on MSN messenger, who is suffering from jet lag, and is on the computer at 3am Aussie time, using messenger for the first time...big leaps and bounds on the technology front.
Stay tuned. J

Wanderers

Mum and Dad arrived on 2 August. It is now 18 August and I haven't written anything even resembling a blog. We have two nights in Rome, pick up two more visitors, drop my parents at the airport and then return to Naples.

I have lots of photos, but sadly no words for you.

Those of you that chose to live vicariously through this blog will, unfortunately, have to rely on other forms of artificial stimulation as I expect it will take me at least a week to recover from this trip. I can't even begin to explain how busy this 'holiday' has been.

So, get out your atlas and know that we have travelled the Amalfi Coast, from Naples to Macerata, across to the Chianti region in Tuscany, north to Udine, down to Parma, then Arezzo and now Rome.

Rest assured I am thinking of these empty pages...plotting my return.
