Carnevale is coming up in February in Italy. The markets are full of child sized costumes and pretty soon the streets and piazzas will be full of small, and not so small, children dressed up as every imaginable character. Along with the costumes it sometimes means egg throwing, splashing shaving foam on strangers and general mischief. It's a dangerous time to be a woman, a foreigner and one who walks around in a red coat. Thank goodness I won't be their target this year.
