Bangkok

What do you do when you feel jetlagged, hot, hungry, disconnected, sad, happy, nervous and crazily in love?? Shop, eat and sleep. So, we find ourselves in Bangkok doing just that. With just 1 1/2 days left til we fly out towards Brisbane the 6 hour time difference continues to dog us, waking us at 3 or 4 am Thai time and sending our appetite into meltdown. The solution? Just eat more often, so we eat according to normal Thai breakfast, lunch and dinner, but also whenever the maddening hunger pains associated with Italian meal times hits with a vengeance. Problem solved.
Doeng's two daughters are the most gorgeous things. Half Thai, half Japanese they speak Thai, Japanese and English with ease. I just want to pinch their cheeks all the time...think I've been in Italy too long.
My Thai is a bit rusty, and mixed up with Italian, but not doing too badly.
Gi is well. Adjusting to the idea of being back in Australia. He enjoys shopping in Bangkok and the food is always a joy. Everything seems to get more modern and hi tech on each subsequent visit. It is certainly a more diversified city, and yet it retains that true Thai essence.
No photos today, but will post from Australia. Thinking about friends in all corners of the world as we move from Europe to Asia to the island continent of Australia. Ciao. Sawasdee. See ya.
