For Art's Sake

We wandered around the Queensland Art Gallery today. There are some new exhibitions focussing on Australian artists from the 20th century. I was also taken by some of the sculptures. Below are a couple of things that caught my attention.

'Under the jacarandas' is an iconic Australian painting depicting the jacaranda trees now common throughout Brisbane. This is one of my favourites, and always reminds me of the Univeristy of Queensland, St Lucia campus where I studied.

Many artists painted the building of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Silver balls floating on water, an interactive, constantly moving sculpture.
