Firstly, for anyone who isn't a native English speaker here's a link to explain 'digs' http://www.worldwidewords.org/qa/qa-dig1.htm
Secondly, I'm afraid the photos don't really give you a sense of the size of the place. The only thing I can say is that it takes about thirty steps to get from the front door to our bedroom door. Which is somewhat different to the urban cave and the four steps required to reach the farthest corner possible.
We held our second party in three weeks. The first was the weekend after we moved in, something of a housewarming. Then last night was a belated gathering for Gigi's birthday. Unfortunately I returned from London with a head cold which when combined with a sinus migraine saw me shuffling off to bed at about 11pm, unable to hold a conversation, let alone be sociable. I didn't even get to greet the late arrivals...the perfect hostess as always. Nevertheless, I believe they enjoyed themselves. They raided the fridge, managed not to attract any complaints from our new neighbours (despite the music) and somehow left splashes of red wine on almost every surface imaginable. Thankfully the apartment is easy to clean, and I had it all done before my party animal flatmates, Gi and Dana, finally surfaced well into the afternoon.
So, you are invited to the next party. The apartment seems to be a space that makes guests feel at ease, like they've stepped into their own place, and I expect more red wine spills and dancing in the dining room in the future.
